First, a little context. My husband's brother Paul became a follower of Christ about 7 years ago. Not too long after that, he began ministering to the homeless in our community week in and week out. His parents (my mother and father-in-law) have been right there from day one faithfully serving with him. Paul happens to be a chef and the owner of a local catering business. He uses these gifts (along with the gift of teaching) to feed both body and soul every single Tuesday night. Currently, he is teaching through the book of Romans. The ministry also provides blankets and warm clothing this time of year. (And so much more, but you can read about it on their site!)
With our young family, we have not been able to participate in the ministry like we have wanted to. Jason does serve on the board of directors and helps his brother when he can with administrative type tasks, but we have not been there on Tuesday nights very often at all. However, with Rachel and Mary Evelyn getting a little older, Jason wants to start taking them on at least a monthly basis. This week was their first opportunity to go, and I wanted to share a few pictures with you.
Be sure to visit the Homeless on Tuesday blog for more information and hopefully I'll have more to share about our family's involvement over the coming months.

Jen,
This brings tears to my eyes! Our hearts have been stirred more by some in our own church to reach out more to the homeless in our community here. We have yet to figure out what this means specifically for our own family right now but we are praying about it.
Ps- that last comment was from me- Jen Unsell. Forgot to sign my name. :-)
Thank you Jen for saying who you are. I could tell from your note that I probably knew you but wasn't sure who it was! Praying God opens just the right doors for your family. Merry Christmas!
What a blessing, Jen! Thank you for sharing this ministry!
May the Lord use the work of those hands to expand His kingdom!

Jen,
You have an awesome family and they are doing awesome things for the Lord. What true blessings to be able to bring about and what a great post to remind us all how important it is to step out there and get involved!
love ya girl!
Oh, Jen, I love seeing your girls helping out and catching the vision. It will be awesome to see how God will use these opportunities to give them a heart for their world.
You're part of such an incredible family. I'm so blessed to know you, friend!
